Draper's & Damon's Response to Covid-19

A Note From Our Founders

Effective: March 18, 2020

We think about you all the time, every decision we make has you in mind. We've been thinking about you - our customers and employees - even more lately. Your health and safety are our number one concern right now. We believe it is critical to do our part to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. Here are some of the things we are doing to ensure the safety of everyone in this constantly changing situation.

We are working around the clock to make the products you love available and deliverable when you want them in the safest way possible. This includes:

  • Closely following guidelines from the CDC and other public health agencies, as well as guidelines from the city, state and federal government.
  • We have ramped up our daily cleaning practices across all facilities and delivery operations, including more frequent equipment cleaning, hand washing and use of sanitizer.
  • Our website will be updated regularly to provide you with more information regarding your orders as well as all the precautions we’re taking to keep you, your family and ours as healthy and safe as possible.

Although the environment we are living in is uncertain, we take comfort in knowing that we have a world class, compassionate team which is dedicated to bringing you and the rest of the Draper's & Damon's community the best we have to offer. As always, we are ready to serve you and hope that our websites and catalogs can be a source of inspiration and joy - because sometimes we can all use a break from the news.

Thanks for being a part of the Draper's & Damon's family.

Covid-19 Package Handling Guide

The CDC, the World Health Organization, as well as the Surgeon General have indicated that there is currently no evidence that COVID-19 is being spread through the mail.

Specifically, according to the World Health Organization, "the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, travelled, and been exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low." And according to the CDC, "in general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures."

Initial studies have shown that the virus can live on cardboard for up to 24 hours and on plastic for up to 3 days.

If you're concerned about the safety of any packages delivered to you, you can take these extra precautions:

leave package outside of your home

If you do not need your packages right away, you can leave them outside your home for the specified amount of time as reported by the CDC.

If you need your items sooner than that:

wipe down package

Thoroughly wipe down any packages or deliveries - whether they are in cardboard or plastic - with an approved disinfectant

remove product from the package

Remove your product from inside the box or bag and dispose of any shipping packaging immediately

wash your hands

Wash your hands with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer

avoid touching face after touching a package

Most importantly, avoid touching your face and wash your hands after handling any packages or deliveriesand dispose of any shipping packaging immediately
