Sr. Import Production Associate
Job description:
- Assist manager in product development & production process; Implementation of strategic sourcing plan from management team for Core items.
- Support and execute sourcing project when assigned.
- Partner with Inventory Control Dept to facilitate the quantity projection of core item program and work with oversea vendors on Greige good placement as well as production capacity on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Monitor Orchard Brands business volume report which including goal plan analysis, calendar actualization & developed vs. booked. Utilize information to improve process for future seasons and meeting year-end goal.
- Prepare monthly review of factory purchase order reports to verify all components of production are track to plan and generate monthly style count adoption rate summary for management review.
- Generate both PO on hand and PO receipt IMU report on a monthly basis for management review
- Prepare and review costs sheets.
- Manage Core item time & action calendars - identify potential problems to manager and offer solutions.
- Responsible to compile department report from team members. i.e. adoption report, PD calendar, etc.
- Provides Logistic support within organization, coordinate information with share services when necessary, and consolidate shipments to reduce freight.
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years apparel production experience
- Knowledge of production, production cycle timeline, fabric and garment construction
- Inventory experience a plus!
- Must have strong analytical, multi-tasking, and problem solving skills
- Sense of urgency, fast paced, detail oriented, and a team player
- Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel
Technical Design Manager
Job description:
- Manage multiple divisions of Technical Designers and Associates.
- Facilitate and review all Technical Packages before sending to vendors overseas, including detailed garment construction, trim details, and garment proposed spec.
- Must be able to meet Tech Package seasonal deadlines.
- Review processes and tools periodically with Tech Team, Buyers, Production Managers, and Overseas Vendors to streamline processes.
- Train and develop technical skills of technical team.
- Implement necessary processes and maintain consistency fit among all divisions.
- Communicate with vendors to establish vendor understanding of Drapers' standards and expectations of products.
- Manage Fit Sessions for all divisions.
- Ensure protos and final samples meet appropriate fit requirements, specs, construction details and quality.
- Review return rates and make adjustments when necessary in order to improve return rate of fit and quality.
- Communicate daily with quality assurance team at DC and monitor QA activity report for all products. Assist in evaluation of products failing QA standard.
- In charge of updating and revising company vendor handbook
- Establish and monitor vendor score cards.
- Strategically offer input on product and quality during design turn over meetings.
- Establish, implement, and monitor testing approval procedure for all products.
- Create a collaborative and open environment where technical team is open to overseas partners and vendors feedback.
Requirements:
- 7-10 years experience in Technical Design area
- Thorough understanding of the apparel design and development process from inception through production.
- Exceptional knowledge of sewing, construction, specs and grading.
- Experience in all product categories – Knits, Woven and Sweaters.
- Experience in pattern making.
- Familiar with Missy market
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods.
- Excellent organizational and communication (both verbal and written) skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Understand apparel manufacturing process overseas
- Experience with PDM or PLM system preferred
- Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft, Excel and Word, Illustrator and Photoshop
